Perhaps the first step in Vedic Astrology is to discard the idea that it is some kind of a superstition. Astrology is composed of two words “Astro” referring to the study of celestial bodies and phenomena and “Logos” meaning the logical application of this scientific study. Vedic refers to the period of the writing of the Vedas and the codification of the data from the Brighu’s (database created across India in the form of Brighu Samhita having records of various birth charts and their life events). Thus, Vedic Astrology refers to the method of Astrology as studied and practised in India since time immemorial. The principal exponent of this is Maharishi Parasara whose writings in the monumental classic Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra form the standard text for Jyotish (Vedic Astrology).

Jyotish is not fatalistic and none other than Brahma Himself can tell you exactly what is going to happen. In fact of the twelve houses that govern the various facets of life, the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses are called Upachaya or houses of growth. The affairs connected with this house are based on the exercise of free will of the individual and cannot be dictated upon. Thus, the scope for exercise of free will is about 33% in our lives and that is quite a bit if used properly. The Srimad Bhagavat Gita is the discussion between Bhagavan Sri Krishna and His ardent disciple Arjun, the warrior. A question often asked is why does God (Sri Krishna) have to urge and explain the truth of life to Arjuna to fight the battle when He can easily direct him to do so? The sixth house in any horoscope deals with enemies and battles and this is under the FREE WILL of the individual as it is an Upachaya. Hence even Bhagavan had to preach Arjun about the value of standing up and fighting for truth.

The Sun Signs , the “Zodiac”

rashi tattvaDwadas Aditya1– The twelve Sun Signs: For one reason or the other, whether it be the conquest of the Normans or the birth of Christ, the starting date of the year has been varying as calendars come and go. In the scheme of Vedic astrology, the solar calendar consists of twelve houses of 30 degrees each covering the total span of 360 degrees. These are called the twelve Sun Signs (Dwadas Aditya). These signs are fixed (unlike that used in the western astrology) although the names and other significations, nature etc are similar to that used in Western astrology.

12 Pisces Water Dual Satwa Female Jupiter

Characteristics of the Signs: The signs of the zodiac are classified in various ways. The important ones are listed below:

Ayanamsa4: This difference is due to the fact that Vedic Astrology takes into account the astronomical fact of the precession of the solar system around another point called a “Nabhi” or Navel whereby the system precesses (like going back) at the rate of about 50.23 seconds per year (others take an average varying from 50″ to 54″ per year based on the time of 26,000 years or 24,000 years for the precession to complete one circle of 360 degrees). This precession results in a mathematical correction called Ayanamsa.

Sankranti: The dates assigned to the signs of the zodiac are based on the solar ingress (i.e. entry of the Sun) of the signs. Depending on the value of Ayanamsa used, this date can vary by a few days and different “astrologers” assign slightly different dates based on their belief on the date of conjunction of zero point of the precession and Aries (called beginning of Kali Yuga) and the rate of the precession. The Government set up a committee called the Calendar reforms committee to correct the anomaly between the beliefs of different Vedic calendars. The result was what is popularly called the Rashtriya Panchang (National Calendar) and the Lahiri Ayanamsa. The date at which the Sun enters a sign is called the Sankranti. Thus, we have 12 Sankranti’s based on the date of the Sun’s entry into each of the 12 signs from Aries to Pisces. Good Vedic Astrologers will date events from the days calculated from Sankranti and also the Tithi. The Vedic Sun signs have a profound influence on the desires of the soul, which is the real individual and if charts are matched on the basis of the Sun signs in addition to the Moon, then real compatibility can be ascertained. Thus, in a way, people having the same Sun signs as given below can be called “soul mates”.

Tithi: Tithi is the Vedic date of the Lunar calendar and is a measure of the distance between the Sun and the Moon starting from Pratipada when they conjoin at Poornima when they oppose at 180 degrees. There are 15 Tithi in the Sukla Paksha (Waxing Phase) and 15 Tithi in the waning phase (Krishna Paksha) (Refer Table-1). Each Tithi is an angle of 12 degrees. This angle is mathematically represented as:

Angle = Longitude of Moon – Longitude of the Sun
and, Tithi = Angle / 120

Table 2: Tithi or the Vedic date (All angles in degrees)

Tattva: There are five principal elements or states of existence of all material bodies called TATWA. These are (1) the Solid state called PRITHVI or Earth, (2) the Liquid state called JALA or Water, the Gaseous state called VAYU, the Vacuum state called AKASH or the Energy state called AGNI. Each sign is assigned one of the four principle elements of Agni (loosely called Fire), Vayu (loosely called Air), Prithvi (loosely called Earth), and Jala (loosely called Water). However the fifth, Akash Tatwa (loosely called Sky) pervades all the signs and represents Vishnu Who pervades everything although not visible to mortal eyes.

Footnotes
1. Aditya is the name of the Sun God as born from Aditi [the mother of the Gods or Deva’s (Deva is derived from Diva, meaning the giver of light or enlightenment)]. There are 12 Aditya’s or Sun Gods for each of the 12 months of Solar transit through the 12 signs. To find your Sun God/Aditya, refer to Vedic Remedies in Astrology by Sanjay Rath.

2 Ketu, the descending node is the co-lord of Scorpio

3 Rahu, the ascending node is the co-lord of Aquarius

4 Ayanamsa: this is the precession of the solar system and is to be added or subtracted from the zero point of Aries in the western chart to arrive at the Vedic Horoscope. For example, the solar ingress into Aries resulting in the start of the Aries Month in western astrology is March 21. However, the Ayanamsa at present (2000 AD) is about 23 degrees and adding 23 days to March 21 we get April 14 as the date for Solar ingress into Aries in the Vedic Calendar.

The heart is a four- chambered Electro-muscular pump designed to circulate the blood around the whole body continuously, without even a pause, till the end of life. Infect, it is a pair of pumps placed side by side. The heart is positioned in the chest just over the lower side of the left loave of the lungs.

The first pump situated on the right side of the heart. This pump recovers blood from the body through the veins and fills right ventricle of the heart and then pumps the blood to lungs. The second pump on the left recovers purified blood back from the lungs and fills the left ventricle of the heart and then pumps the blood to the body. Four valves control these functions. The blood supply to the heart muscle (the myocardium) itself is provided by special arteries, called coronary arteries.

The function of the heart is controlled and regulated by electrical impulses, originating in the sinus node, a structure embedded in the heart muscle. Nearly 72 impulses are passed every minute through myocardium, this generates equal number of heartbeats. In this process, heart muscle develops pressure (blood-pressure) which is responsible for the flow of blood in the body.

heartThe nature has created another mechanical pumps (two in number) which are situated in each of the calf muscles of the legs. These pumping systems is only operative when a person is walking, running or performing some specific exercises and help the heart in accelerating the flow of blood supply in the body. These pumps do not operate when body is in resting mode. This is the broad basis on which heart helps to maintain the circulation of blood in the body.

Type of main diseases of heart

    1. Congenital Heart diseases.
      1. The child may born with some defects in the heart like: abnormality in aortic and Pulmonary valves, deformation in both or either of the ventricles (generally both Ventricles are connected by a whole), etc.
      2. Abnormalities caused during pregnancy like defects arising out during formation of foetus, on account of drugs taken by mother etc.
      3. On account of infections, German measles, rheumatic fever etc.
    2. Diseases of the Valves: On account of rheumatic fever, Calcification of valves, etc.; the flow of blood becomes restricted.  This results in High blood pressure and related diseases of the heart.
    3. Coronary heart Disease. On account of several factors, the gradual narrowing of coronary arteries or excessive deposits of fats inside the walls of arteries occur. This results in the reduced supply of blood to heart muscle and myocardial infarction may result, which is called  “Heart Attack”.
    4. Cardiac muscle disease : On account of infection, high blood pressure, congenital diseases etc., the heart muscle becomes weak and diseased. These are called as Cardio-myopathies.
    5. Disturbance in Heart’s electrical system : As healthy car engine cannot run without proper electrical system, similarly a healthy heart can perform properly if its electric system is sending proper and timely impulses. Many problems arise on account of mall functioning of heart’s electrical system.

This is a broad and layman’s view about the possible causes of heart disease. This may help to identify astrological reasons for specific heart diseases in broader prospective.

Astrological principals

1.significators for heart (positive factors)
(a) The Fourth House: The fourth house indicates the heart of the native. Mind is also the seat of the fourth house. Heart and mind are very closely associated with each other.
(b) lord of the fourth house: The second important significator of the heart is the Lord of fourth house. This is in accordance with the basic principal of predictive astrology.
(c) moon: The Moon is Natural ruler as well as significator of fourth house. Moon is      also significator of mind , thus Moon becomes important significator of the heart.
(d) Sign Cancer: Moon is the ruler of sign Cancer. This sign plays important role as significator of heart.
(e) Nakshatra anuradha: Anuradha is Heart of the kalapurusha (Lord Vishnu). Thus this Nakshatra acts as significator of Heart.

2.  Significators for the disease of heart (negative factors)
a) The sun: Sun is the significator of the heart disease. When malefic influences operate on the Sun, heart diseases may be indicated. This also depends on other adverse indications such as malefic Dasas and transits. This is most important factor for the disease of the heart.
b)  sign leo: Sun being its natural associate, any affliction to this sign may promote heart disease.
c)   The Fifth house: The fifth house is the natural seat of sign Leo and its Lord Sun.  Affliction to this house becomes a strong factor in promoting heart disease,  further, this is the house of intellect which  has a direct bearing on the well being of the heart muscle as well as its   functioning. On account of this reason, some authorities have even advocated that real seat of heart is fifth house in comparison with fourth house. However, as heart is more akin to watery element (then fire), we feel it is more appropriate that forth house should be considered the prime seat of the heart. The fifth house either help in the growth and well being of the heart or if fifth house is afflicted it promotes the disease of the heart. The fifth house is a Marka house for heart muscle being second house from fourth house.
d) The Lord of the Fifth House: -For reasons explained in Sl.no. C above, the Lord of the fifth house acts as a Marka to heart muscle as well as if afflicted promotes heart disease.

3. Secondary significators for the disease of the heart (secondary Negative actors)
(A) 2nd drekkana: In case, ascendant falls in the 2nd Drekkana of the rising sign, the fifth and the ninth houses in rashi chart become the indicator of Right and left sides of the heart muscle respectively. In that case, any affliction to these houses indicates the strong possibility of heart disease depending upon the type of malefic influences operating on these houses.
(B) sign aquarius: In chapter I, sloka 8 of BrihatJatak, Varah Mihira identified Aquarius as “hirdyaroga”. The placement of sun in this sign does not augur well for heart.
(C) The Eleventh House: Eleventh House is the natural seat of sign Aquarius. This is the house of fulfilment of desire, which has a strong bearing both on mind and Intellect. The two Calf-muscles of both legs are also signified by eleventh house and sign Aquarius. Thus, this house becomes one of the strong significator for heart disease. This house is eighth from the forth house. Any affliction to the Fifth and eleventh house axis may cause heart disease.
(D) Nakshatra magha (Leo 0 degree – 13 degree 20’) (Yavan jatak):  An afflicted planet in this Nakshatra may cause sudden shock and pollution to the heart. Kept is the ruler of this Nakshatra and triggers accidents and sudden events.
(E) Nakshatra Purva Phalguni (Leo 13 degree 20’ to 26 degree 40’) (Yavan jatak): This star has a strong signification over heart and generates swelling of heart muscles.
(F) dhanista – Last two charan (Aquarius 0 degree – 6 degree 40’):  This star may trigger sudden failure of heart and carries the influence of sign Aquarius and Mars.
(G) shatavhisha (AQUARIUS 6 degree 40’ – 20 degree): This star rules over Electricity, which is vital for proper and regular functioning of the heart. Both Rahu and Hershel rule over Electricity and are the co-rulers of sign Aquarius. This star rules Rheumatic heart disease, high blood pressure, palpitation and other mall-functioning in the heart on account of  its electrical system. Both Rahu and Hershel play vital Role for such problems in the heart.
(H) Poorva-Bhadarpad-First three Quarters: (Aquarius 20 degree to 30 degree) This rules over the irregularities in function, swelling and dilation of heart muscle. The Jupiter is the ruler of this star and represents expansion, swelling, dilation etc when afflicted.

Indication for prevention of heart disease

These are indications for strong and healthy heart.

1.     In case Fourth house, its Lord, its Karka Moon, sign Cancer and Nakshatra Anuradha are in auspicious influence, the heart would be strong and would resist any indications and yoga (s) which may exist in the birth chart for the disease of heart. These are summarised as under:

(A) If Moon and Lord of the fourth house are:Heart Disease and Its Causes
i.         In their Exaltation, Mooltrikona and own rashi(s),
ii.       Conjunct, hammed or/and aspected by benefic planets.
iii.      Placed in good bhavas -kendra and trikona (it would be better if both from Ascendant and fourth house)
iv.     Moving towards their exaltation sign.
v.       Vargottama, exaltation or own Navmasas.
vi.     With six or more bindus in their own Astak Vargas and more than 32 bindus in Sarva – Astakvarga.
vii.    Dispositor of these planets are similarly in auspicious influence
viii.  These planets have acquired requisite Shad-Bala and Vimshopak strength.
ix.     Placed in auspicious Shashtiyamsa (60th part of the rashi).
x.       Simultaneously, fourth Bhava and Cancer Rashi are occupied or aspected by benefics or by their own Lords. These Bhava and rashi should be hemmed by benefics.
On the contrary, the following factors will promote illness

2. If Moon and lord of forth house are:
(1) In their debilitation or enemy sign
(2) Placement in 6th, 8th or/and 12th house from Ascendant and fourth house.
(3) Hemmed by Malefics.
(4) Conjunction or aspect of melefics (Mars, Saturn,Rahu,Ketu and lords of 6th 8th and   12th house)
(5) Relationship (Sambandh) with the Lords of 6th, 8th and 12th Lords from fourth as well as ascendant.
(6) Melefics in 6,8 and 12, or 5 or 9th houses from fourth house.
(7) Relationship with significators of diseases of heart
(8) Placement of planets in debilitation, Enemy and malefic Navmasa or in the Navmasa of rashis falling in trik Bhavas.
(9) Planets with 3 or less Bindus in their own respective Astakvarga and 22 or less Bindus sarvastak -Vargas.
(10) Bhavas, their Lords and Karka do not have requisite Shad- Bala and Vimshopak Strength.
(11) Placed in inauspicious Shashtiyamsa
(12) Fourth house and Cancer Rashi are occupied, Aspected or hemmed by Malefics.

Indication of Cardiac Illness.

ambulance-carThe following points are to be examined:

1)      Affliction to SUN: this is by far the most important factor in causing cardiac illness.Affliction from Saturn causes palpitation and shivering of heart. Ketu causes pain the heart. Mars causes problem of blood circulation. Sun’s debilitation and relationship with 6,8thand 12th houses or their Lords promotes heart disease.
2)      Affliction to fifth house and 11th house and their Lords
3)      Affliction to sign Leo and Aquarius.
4)      Affliction to Lagna and its Lord. – This also promotes diseases.
5)      Affliction to fourth and fifth houses from Moon and Sun respectively.
6)      In the main Dasa of a malefic planet, if antardasa lord is retrograde and situated in fifth house from Lagna or Sun, promotes Cardiac illness.
7)      In the presence of sufficient affliction, the Dasa of planets associating with SUN, the 5th house, the 5th lord leads to Cardiac illness.
8)      In the basic scheme, Lagna is the house of health, sixth is for disease, 8th for death, 2nd and 7th are Marka houses and 12th is the house of decay. The ninth house is for growth and 11th house for recovery. When we consider similar scheme from house of heart i.e. the fourth house, the fourth house is for health of the heart, Ninth house is for its disease, 11th is for its death, 3rd for decay, 5th and 10th act as its Marka, 12th for growth and 2nd house from Lagna is for recovery of heart from disease. This gives some interesting information with regard to heart disease.  9th. 11th, 12th and 2nd   houses from Lagna are common in both schemes. Thus 9th house may promote growth of the whole body but at the cost of heart. Similarly 11th house may promote recovery of the body from other illnesses but may adversely harm the heart. 12th house may weaken the body but may contribute to the health of the heart. 2nd house may help from the recovery of heart from the of disease but may sometimes be fatal to the native on account other reasons. These are the contradictions which Doctors and native face in life in actual practice. The astrologer should be very careful while assessing the recovery of a particular organ of the body. If dasa of 2nd Lord is running, sometimes operation of the heart is successful, still 2nd house may prove Marka to the native on account of other reasons.

Inference

All these factors are to be properly weighed before reaching a prediction on the recovery of the Native from the illnesses. When main Karka’s of heart are strong and in good influence like fourth house, Moon, Lord of the fourth house, sign Cancer, and star Anuradha, the heart would be strong. If these factors are weak and aflicted, the heart would be weak. And liable to contact disease. On the other hand, if Karkas for promoting disease of the heart are in benefic influence, they would not promote disease. If these are afflicted, they would certainly promote disease even if heart Muscle and its function both are in healthy condition. Both the above factors, the Karkas of heart and its disease are afflicted, the disease in the heart would be of serious nature.

 Important notes

  1. Every house represents two categories of things

(I)                 Living things
(II)               Non living things
In the case of fourth house, mother, animals, birds, Energy to work, breasts of woman, chest, heart, lungs, Arteries, diaphragm, portion of chest above diaphragm, alimentary canal, ribs, sternum (breast bone), Right nostril (Ist Drekhana is rising), Right side of the middle position of the body (II nd Drekhana is rising), Right thigh (iiird Drekhana is rising) are the things which are in living categories. The land, house, vehicle, farm equipment, garden, grains, crops, mines etc are things represented by fourth house, which are in non-living categories . (We are not discussing about abstract things of fourth house, like happiness, education, mind etc).
“Natural malafic planets situated in a house give harm to living things and give rise to non living things; while natural benefic planets do not have much sympathy with the non-living things and give rise to living things related to that house.”
Natural malefic even in its own sign will harm the living things. In case of fourth house, it may strengthen the heart yet produce decay and disease in the heart. Natural Malefics behave like a snake that lays eggs but eats almost all  by itself.
(For information of the readers, the abstract things represented by the fourth house are ambition, Comfort, Faith in religion, mind ,allegation, fame, victory, secrets, education, artistic ability etc)

  1. It is important to note that the reckoning of the various yogas is done in the dwadasamsa cart also exactly in the same manner as is done in rasi chart. In large number of cases the combinations are not visible straitaway in rasi chart. And yet the person suffers from the disease. In such cases, the dwadasamsa chart is very useful and will certainly provide the missing link in the diagnosis.

Yoga’s for Heart disease

  1. Malefics in forth house and its lord is conjoined or hemmed by Malefics.
  2. Forth lord in eighth with its lord or in combustion with Sun.
  3. malefics are placed in 4th and 5th houses simultaneously.
  4. Navamsa lord of 4th house lord, if afflicted, may promote misery and disease. If it is in malefic Shashtiyans (D-60) and aspected or conjoined with malefic, it may promote heart disease. Similar results are expected if it is with 6th or 8th lords along  with Sun or any other malefic.
  5. Ketu joins Mars in fourth house.
  6. Affliction Moon in house of enemy.
  7. Saturn joins Sun in evil house or fourth house.
  8. Sixth Lord and SUN in fourth with a malefic.
  9. Mars Saturn or Jupiter in fourth house aspected by Malefics.
  10. 10, Sixth Lord in fourth house with Saturn and Jupiter.
  11. Mercury in Lagna, and both Sun & Saturn in 6th house afflicted by Malefic.
  12. Rahu and moon in seventh house and Saturn in Kendra.
  13. Sun is in sign Scorpio, weak Mars afflicts Jupiter and sixth Lord is also afflicted by Malefic.
  14. Afflicted Moon is fourth house and three malefcs in one house.
  15. Lord of fifth house or fifth house and /or both with Malefics and also hemmed by them.
  16. Fifth lord is in debilitation sign or inimical sign, or in eighth house, or combust and is with eighth Lord.
  17. Afflicted Sun as Sixth lord is in fourth house.
  18. Sun in Aquarius.
  19. A weak Lagna Lord positioned in 4th house with Rahu and aspected by Malefic.
  20. The heart attack may come in the periods and sub-periods of planets owning or occupying 2nd, 6th, 8th and 12th housed from the Sun and the 4th Lord.

Factors for protection against heart disease.
(1)   Influence or aspects of Benefics on Karkas and absence of yoga’s indicating heart disease.
(2)   Jupiter in Lagna and lagnesh is with strength.
(3)   Strong Gaj-Kesari yoga in horoscope.
(4)   Combination for Long life.
(5)   Unafflicted sun in Gemini is said to provide protection against heart disease.
(6)   When both Lagna and Moon are aspected by benefics.

gh1“This Mysterious Beatle” George Harold Harrison needs no introduction. The date and time of his birth as recorded are [1]25 February, 1943; 00:05’ BST; (-1Hr GMT); Liverpool, U.K. Later this was ‘corrected’ by an astrologer. He wrote, “For instance, I only learned recently after all these years that the date and time of my own birth have always been off by one calendar day and about a half hour on the clock,” reported in Billboard magazine, 12/1992.” On a prior occasion, he had given out February 25, 1943, 00:05 AM GDT, (23 minutes later). Tashi Grady met Harrison in 7/1993 and he said that he and his astrologer had rectified the time to [2] 11:52:19 PM. Lois Rodden’s Astrodatabank has further ‘corrected’ this time to [3] 11:42’ PM.

We have examined the three timings and are of the opinion that the time that was corrected by the astrologer at [2] to match his life events is correct. The time of 11:52’:19” has been slightly touched to 11:53’:05” on 24 February, 1943 based on Pranapada being in trines to Navamsa Lagna.

gh3Parents

His mother Louise was a housewife who was the cheer leader as the young Beatles practiced at his home. The Moon is a crucial planet in the chart and is placed in the Lagna in Libra in rapt conjunction with the ascendant. This promises fame and a lot of popularity and is also the natural significator for mother. It shows that her blessings and encouragement would translate into a meaningful life in music. As the tenth Lord in Lagna, the Moon promises fame and pursuit of an independent and unique path. This was his life of music. The Lagna in Dwadasamsa shows the mothers profession and the Lagna Lord Jupiter is placed in the 12th house from the fourth with the routine worker Ketu indicating that the mother would not have any meaningful career choice.

His father Harold Harrison was a bus driver. The sixth house in the Dwadasamsa chart shows the fathers career and here we find Venus (Vehicles) in Taurus as the tenth Lord showing the profession as a driver. He was the youngest of The Beatles and the only Beatle whose childhood was not marred by divorce or death. This is the blessing of the great Moon in such rapt conjunction. Moon is also one of the three Yogada in the chart besides Saturn and Venus as it is placed in Lagna and aspects the Ghatika and Hora Lagna by Rasi Drishti.

CO-BORN

George had two brothers Peter and Harry, and a sister, Louise. The third house is severely afflicted by Mandi, Gulika and Mars and its Lord Jupiter although aspecting it, is retrograde. This indicates the absence of younger co-born. The eleventh Lord from Lagna is the sun in conjunction with Ketu, the Lord of its exaltation star and is also aspected by Jupiter. Rahu although placed in the 11th house is the Atmakaraka and will not harm in this matter. Arudha Lagna is in Leo and the eleventh Lord from it is Mercury placed in Capricorn. Mercury has gained FIVE Navamsa indicating that there can be about five elder co-born. Expunging Pisces the sign of debility of Mercury and Saturn & Rahu conjunction in Aries Navamsa, we get three elder co-born. This is further confirmed in the Rasi chart as Mercury is only aspected by Saturn and Rahu (Rasi Drishti) and is not conjoined any planet showing three elder co-born.

MARRIAGE & CHILDREN

gh2During the filming of the movie, A Hard Day’s Night, George met Pattie Boyd, and the two were married on January 21, 1966 in Jupiter Dasa Mercury Antardasa. In the Navamsa (D-9 Chart), Jupiter is the Lord of Lagna and mercury is the Lord of the seventh house and is also placed in the seventh house. His greatness lies in his befriending Eric Clapton despite Clapton’s visible longing for his wife Pattie – a desire t
hat is immortalized in the song “Layla” by Clapton’s band. Pattie gave George love and self-confidence while Clapton gave him respect as a guitar player and self-esteem. After his disastrous tour of the USA in 1974 (after the breakup of the Beatles), he went into a depression that led to his divorce in 1977. The couple did not have any children. Note that the Dasa of Saturn had just started in June 1976 and Saturn is placed in the eighth house indicating the break of marriage.

In 1977, George met Olivia Arrias, a Mexican-Californian who had originally come to work as a secretary (Saturn-subordinate) in his ‘Dark Horse’ record company. They fell in love and lived together which led to the birth of their son, Dhani[1], born on August 1, 1978. George and Olivia married one month later. All this happened in Saturn dasa Saturn Antardasa as Saturn is the Yogakaraka lord of the 4th and 5th house promising a child, and is also an independent Yogada as it is placed in the Hora & Ghatika Lagna Taurus and aspects the Lagna in Libra by Rasi Drishti. Note the name of the child “Dhani” as referring to the sign Taurus and Hora Lagna that is associated with wealth.

Second marriage is seen from the second house in the Navamsa chart and Saturn is the second lord placed in debility in Aries Navamsa indicating the second marriage as soon as its period started. This conjunction of Saturn with the Atmakaraka Rahu also gave him a wife who would appreciate his spirituality. Its aspect on the seventh house damages the first marriage while promoting the second. After all, in the words of Chanakya, of what use is a wife if she cannot give you children. Of what use are friends and wives who will only share the laughter. In fact friends who have such longing for one’s wife are the propagators of the greatest evil that goes against the basic moral fibre that builds homes and a decent society. He did well to end his first marriage and marry his erstwhile secretary who at least shared his initial sorrow and gave him the strength to rise again, besides the great joy of a son.

CHILDHOOD

George had a normal happy childhood with both parents growing up in a public housing project. He attended Dovedale Primary School two forms behind John Lennon, and then the Liverpool Institute, one form behind Paul McCartney. He was a mediocre student. Most of these years were in the dasa of the Atmakaraka Rahu placed in the eleventh house and having malefic Argala on both the fourth Lord Saturn and the fourth house.

In Rahu dasa Venus Antardasa at the age of 13 his mother got him his first guitar. Venus is the natural karaka for the arts and is a Yogada in the chart being the lord of the Lagna, Hora Lagna and Ghatika Lagna. Venus is also exalted in the Rasi chart and is laced in the ninth house in the Navamsa thereby promoting his artistic talents. His natural talents are seen in the trines to Navamsa Lagna. Moon in the Lagna shows a desire to sing while Jupiter the Lord of Navamsa Lagna in trines makes one a good author and in trines to Venus, poetic abilities will be marked. This reaches a very high level of self actualization as the Lord of Navamsa Lagna conjoins the Atmakaraka Rahu promising a very high (international level) of achievement. Saturn in trines to Lagnamsa makes him hardworking and dedicated to his line. These factors are sure to give success.

The ability with the musical instrument comes from the Sun ruling the rhythms. The sun is the Lord of the ninth in Navamsa and is in the second house having Argala on Lagna showing that this ability would be acquired with some hard work more so as Saturn is the dispositor of the Sun and is in trines to Lagnamsa. This is confirmed by the fact that his early efforts at guitar playing were somewhat futile–he bought a guitar as a young adolescent, but found he couldn’t understand the chording patterns. While he was experimenting with one of the screws, the instrument fell apart. In frustration George hid the guitar in the closet and turned his efforts to the trumpet, where he met with a similar lack of success. Eventually one of his older brothers [Note that the Sun is the Lord of the eleventh house ruling elder brothers in the Rasi chart] repaired the guitar. This happened in Rahu Dasa sun antardasa. On his next attempts George managed to learn a few chords. After that he practiced diligently, listening to recordings of famed guitarists in order to perfect his style.

George joined Paul McCartney at the Liverpool institute and later became a member of John Lennon’s group ‘The Quarrymen’ at the age of 15 years. With the advent of the Rajyoga dasa of Jupiter in 1960, the group changed its name to ‘The Beatles’.

Why would Jupiter, a dire malefic for Libra Lagna give such an astounding Rajyoga and success during its Dasa? Jupiter is the dispositor of the exalted Lagna Lord and its placement in a trine, that too the ninth house gives good fortune to the native besides good health. It is also the dispositor of the second and seventh Lord mars and is aspected by it to indicate increase in wealth. In the Navamsa it is the Lagna and Moon sign Lord and is placed in the fifth house with the Atmakaraka indicating great success and position akin to a king during its dasa. In the Dasamsa, it is again the Lagna and Moon sign Lord and is placed in the second house in debility with Venus. This is the strongest of the Artha Trikona and directs the career successes. It aspects both the sun and Moon promising that the Rajyoga during its period will bear fruit for a long time. Jupiter is also placed in the 11th house from Arudha Lagna promising immense amount of legitimate income.

With the advent of Jupiter dasa, in August 1960 the Beatles set off for Hamburg on the invitation of the ‘Indra Club’. Note that the name Indra is associated with the deity of Jupiter. However, the Beatles performed for a rival club which irked the owner of Indra club. The latter lodged a police complaint against George for being underage (17 years) and he was sent back to England.

[1]Dhani is a Hindi name meaning ‘Rich’ and refers to a gift of Vishnu. “Vishnu de dhanam

We, who know astrology, take up horoscope with regard to the problem we face, and try to guess solutions based on Astrology. According to my study of astrology one can guess forth coming event in one’s life but one can differ with the time of happening of the event. Study of astrology shows that there are different methods of studying of time `Kalnirnaya’ like `Vinshottari, Ashtottari, Dinwarsha’ etc. It is very essential to study why these so many methods have come up. Therefore I present “A subject based study of Horoscope”

I have a huge collection of horoscopes based on the experience of last thirty – three years. According to different methods of measurement of time. For the correct predications, I gave 0 to +3 and if the predication went wrong I gave 0 to -3 marks. Thus the scientific and systematic ways of the ability to make correct or incorrect decisions was found. According to may long term discovery, the systems averaged more than 50% are considered for Bad or Good results.. Such as we have scrutinized all systems `Vinshottari’,   ‘ Ashtak Warg ‘,  `Ashtak-Warg’ `Nakshatra’ & `Shodash-Warg’ on the `Bhawa’ `Naxkshatras’. & `Graha’ etc. We fixed the limit of ability of each system, which is considered for munificence of Bad and Good results to the clients. I personally used this procedure while writing these all types of Software. Therefore scientific method gives 90% true results to the facts of the clients.
02ganesha_tambourine
New procedure is started by us that we give periodical graph of one year instead of Horoscope. The rules are so very simple that any client can read this graph. To draw a graph the information required is Name, Birth date Birth time, birth place [ref. to latitude and longitude], from which date the graph is required of the year and Subject (are given below). Scientifically, to understand predication, there is not only need of horoscope but also knowledge of astrology. And lastly the capacity of the Graph is 90% true to the facts happens in future. Science does not known the analysis of light rays or situation at center of atom, however we or science can use this facilities given by nature. Forget it that this graph’s results come with help of astrology and search it for human’s better easy life.
The problems solved and the subjects has been given in the serial numbers of:

1] Physical 2] Disposition 3] Mind and mentality 4] family matter & marriage (`Muhurt’) an auspicious moment. 5] Wealth 6] Oratory stage daring & communication 7] Knowledge 8] Mother relation 9] Bravery 10] Difference quarrel 11] Mother pleasure 12] Static wealth (2,11,8) 13] Vehicle 14] Relatives (6=Mother 12=Father 11=Child) 15] Child relation 16] Wit, education & skill 17] Religious & volunteers 18] Mysterious subjects, Astrology and technology 19] Physical illness 20] Employer, employee relation ship 21] Husband / wife happiness 22] Enmity, quarrel and court matter 23] Migration transfers 24] Expectation and gain without efforts 25] Mysterious disease president illness pains. 26] Religious activity, refusal 27] Religious success, refusals 28] Social education, social work. 29] Social honor & happiness 30] Luck and General success. 31] Profession, industry, collaborator, service. 32] Father happiness. 33] Politicos & social work 34] Relatives of Child 35] Relative & friend relation 36] Wealth, income & gain 37] Comfortable thinking 38] Father relations 39] Legal problems & sentence 40] Political problems 41] Loss of wealth, loan & state of a deceived 42] Mental insipidness and 43]

Plotting Graph indications: – 1] 12 months with 4 parts of a month, 2] `Darja’ i.e. capability of Good or Bad effects of the subject. 3] Having centerline to know goodness or badness of the graph (Upper side than centerline is good and lower sided graph is bad) for the subject. 4) Percentage of the graph goes up and down. 5) Searching method, any date of the year, to know type of predication. 6) Can be printed with dates of good and bad period, and give to the client for the guidance of the year.

Rule. :- The occasion happened on particular date is an important part of the life. Astrology can tell particular predication but can’t tell particular period of the happening (of the predication) in future. Such dates are responsible for turning of life of the person. Actual happening on particular date or period and ambition for the required period is always different in our life. With help of this Graph the planetary position of the date tells us not only badness or goodness of the occasion (happened on the date), but also future effects of the incidence, whether good or bad. Finding can be done of the date by various subject graphs and the astrologer can reach to the proper guidance, which is 90% true as per our search.

Benefits: – There are lot of benefits of the graph for client and also searching proper predication guidance to the astrologer. Some few attractive examples are given below.

1] Marriage:

As per our research, if the discussions settlement of marriage, engagement & other relegates programs for marriage, and fix day of marriage is on the good graph, their marriage and family life becomes happier. Whose retails regarding marriage have taken place, when the graph is below centerline; they face problems in their family life. If the discussions take place when the planet support then the graph is useful. Now with help of graph one can guess when the marriage is to take place.

2] Business of Service.

As per research, if the date of starting business or joining of service will show bad by the graph, the business or service will not fully helpful to the person for his future life. Adversely good graph on particular date gives fine benefits of business or service in future. Such as we can guess required joining or starting new business in future.

3] Court Case

As per thousands of cases searched, the cause of Court case happened on particular Date or submitting court case or police case on particular Date could tell actual effects of future, by the graph. Simple knowledge person can guess the judgment after scrutiny all concerned dates of the Court case.

4] Particular work or education.

There is not planetary support to the person for above work during the bad situation of graph. Normally as per search, found inadvertence in the study when graph position is bad. If parents or teachers will take care for his study during above period the student can get good success. Such as when planetary support is not available for the subject, the person can take necessary care and try to get success.
In short: Such as finding suddenly dates of quarrel, marriage, birth, separation, transfer or departure, stating of building, final declarations, occasion, theft, appointment, receipt, given money on loan, and so many incidence dates tells perfect results of future. Adversely we can take future decisions of the period as per graph.

Now what is your work?

1] Don’t believe me first.

2] Try to find out whether is it true.

3] The person or Party who wish to purchase this software may give further information.

Give me minimum cases with required dates of last period in detail. Also give male-female, Birth date, Birth time, Birthplace w/latitudes and longitudes time difference, full address of birthplace. 4] The client who requires guidance may also give detail information of Birth date, time, place etc., as above. The related dates and write me on Email. After discussion on phone or email permission will be taken by us to send result to you. After your reply necessary result with guidance will be given on email of by Post in written. This will take some time but you will get perfect guidance.

For reference please see our normal site http://jmastro.4t.com/ I wish also discuss with you in Indian languages Marathi or Hindi.

Thanking you, Dada Gadekar.

Sanjay Replies:

Dear Dada Gadekar ji, Long time back when I was a child, my father gave me a golden rule for writing: DO NOT TOUCH THE PEN UNLESS YOUR MIND IS MADE UP ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT TO WRITE. Thank you for a similar advise.

Astrology related research is the work of Maharishi’s and your effort should place you on a very high pedestal in this area of study. Based on what you write, it is evident that the method of drawing a graph from the chart at the time of marriage or starting of any work would be some kind of a cumulative measure of the beneficence or otherwise of the planetary influences.

I cannot comment as the methodology for drawing the graph has not been indicated in your letter, nor has the software been made available for evaluation. Research work can be beneficial or evaluated if the researcher allows other experts in the field to evaluate his study and findings. Kindly share your findings with us so that we can study these graphs and offer our comments.

Secondly, you have not indicated whether the graph is based on a time scale or is deterministic about the final result. Kindly add this.

Thank you for the good work in Jyotish & regards.

CHAKRA

The basic quantum of time is 120 years which is the Param Ayus of the Human birth (Parasara gives the exact figure of 120 Years & 5 days, but we stick to the round figure of 120 years for the preliminary understanding). As explained earlier, this is also two cycles (Aaroha or increasing and Avaroha or decreasing quality of time) of Jupiter & Saturn of 60 years each. This is also a Kali (literally ONE) Chakra. Dwapara( Literally TWO) Chakra is 240 Years, Treta(literally THREE) Chakra is 360 Years and Kreta(literally FOUR) Chakra is 480 Years.

MAHACHAKRA

By adding all these four Chakra, we get a Maha Chakra of 1200 Years. (120+240+360+480=1200). Thus, Kali (ONE) Maha Chakra is 1200 Years, Dwapara (TWO) MahaChakra is 2400 years, Treta (THREE) Mahachakra is 3600 years and Kreta (FOUR) Mahachakra is 4800 years.

DAIVACHAKRA

By adding all these four Mahachakra, we get a Daivachakra of 12000 Years. (1200+2400+3600+4800=12000). As the name implies, the Daiva indicates the luminous ones (Sun & Moon) and we again come to the Ahoratra (Hora) concept where we have one Aaroha (increasing) cycle and one Avaroha (decreasing) cycle of 12000 years each to give the period of 24,000 years.

YUGA

Thereafter, 18 Ahoratra of the Daivachakra or 36 Daivachakra form a Yuga of 4,32,000 Years. This number is based on the Drekkana Division ruled by the Maharishi’s (3×12=36). Thus, Kali (ONE) Yuga is 4,32,000 Years, Dwapara (TWO) Yuga is 8,64,000 years, Treta (THREE) Yuga is 12,96,000 years and Kreta (FOUR) Yuga is 17,28,000 years.

PADA

Trini-pada-vichakrame Vinur-Gopa-adabhyo (.) Atho Dharmani dharayan (.) Rig Veda

The spiritual meaning (Veda) of this Gayatri from the Rig Veda can be studied from the works of Sri Dayananda Saraswati & Aurobindo. I can only attempt one lower level (Vedanga) Jyotish interpretation where ” The Bha-Chakra or Zodiac is divided into three parts called the Nabhi (occuring in the Sandhi (junction) between the Water and Fire signs). These are the Vishnu-Nabhi and Brahma (Gopa) Nabhi at the two levels of Daivachakra and Chakra respectively. It is on the basis of this inviolable principle that Dharma is established.”

On the basis of this we can define two Pada. First, on the basis of the Vishnu Nabhi, is the Daiva-Pada where three Daivachakra are included to give 36,000 Years. Since at this level, Vishnu is one of the 12 Aditya’s (Sun’s or Diva or Daiva), the 12 Aditya’s give 12 Daiva-Pada’s of 36,000 years each which is equal to one yuga (36,000 x 12 = 4,32,000 years). Second, on the basis of the Brahma Nabhi, is the Chakra-Pada where three Chakra’s of 120 years each are included to form a Daiva-Varsha or the popularly known “Year of the Gods” of 360 years. Thus, Kali (ONE) Yuga is 1200 Daiva-Varsha, Dwapara (TWO) Yuga is 2400 Daiva-Varsha, Treta (THREE) Yuga is 3600 Daiva-Varsha and Kreta (FOUR) Yuga is 4800 Daiva-Varsha .

[From here we use Daiva-Varsha or “Year of the Gods” each equalling 360 earth years as the standard quantum of time].

MAHAYUGA

By adding all these four Yuga, we get a Maha Yuga of 12000 Daiva-Varsha or 4,320,000 Earth years. (1200+2400+3600+4800=12000).

KALPA

One thousand Mahayuga are equal to one Kalpa. Thus, the Kalpa is the basic Vedic Cosmic cycle equal to 12,000,000 Daiva Varsha or 4,320,000,000 Earth years. This is also called the “Day of Brahma”. The “Night of Brahma” is of equal length to the “Day of Brahma”. Thus, the Ahoratra (Day & Night) of Brahma is 24 Million Daiva-Varsha or 8,640 Million earth Years. The Year of Brahma is 360 such days & nights thereby equal to 8640 Million Daiva-Varsha or 3,110,400 Million Earth years (or say 3.11 Trillion Earth Years). The Life of Brahma is said to be 100 such years of Brahma and is 8,64,000 Million Daiva Varsha or 311,040,000 Million Earth years (or say 311 Trillion Earth years). Thereafter Nirvikalpa Pralaya (complete dissolution of all worlds) occurs followed by the creation of another Brahma from the Navel of Narayana.

MANVANTARA

Material creation is the natural activity of Brahma during the Diva-kalpa (Day of Brahma)and material dissolution called Naimittika Pralaya (whereby the entire Universe is withdrawn into Him where it exists as a potentiality) followed by sleep is the activity in Ratri-kalpa (Night of Brahma). Brahma creates these material worlds due to yoga (union) with all the “Rasa’s”.

[The spiritual concept (Veda) of all the Rasa’s is “Sa-Rasa-Wati” or the Divine Mother “Saraswati” whereas the Jyotish concept (Vedanga) is of the seven Rasa’s (of the Saptamsa or D-7 Chart) repeating in two cycles of odd and even signs thereby causing fourteen yoga’s of Brahma and Saraswati. These seven Rasa’s come from the seven planets from Sun to Saturn having physical bodies and Rahu & Ketu are excluded as they do not have any material body].

Thus, each Manvantara, which is the Yoga of Brahma with one of the Rasa’s, is for one-fourteenth the period of the Kalpa which is approximately 71 Mahayuga’s. The period of a Manvantara equal to 852,000 Daiva-Varsha (i.e 71×12000= 852,000) or 306,720,000 Earth years. Fourteen such Manvantara give the total period of 119,288,000 Daiva Varsha (i.e. 14x 852,000= 119,228,000) or 4,294,080,000 Earth years whereas that of the Kalpa is 12,000,000 Daiva Varsha or 4,320,000,000 Earth years. This leaves a gap of 72,000 Daiva-varsha between the 14 Manvantara. There are twelve gaps or period of dissolution of the ANIMATE WORLD (the INANIMATE WORLD continues to exist as Brahma is awake) between these fourteen Manvantara with each gap equal to 6000 Diva-varsha. Manu is the progenitor of the human race and a Manu appears at the begining of each Manvantara. We are presently, in the seventh Manvantara of the Kalpa started by Manu Vaivasvata. Thus, he is our penultimate forefather as far as this material existence is concerned.

DOOMSDAY OR GOLDEN AGE FROM 2000 AD

There is no doom. Sri Achyutu Dasa the direct disciple of Sri Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has stated in a stanza about India that “FROM 13OO AD TO 2000 AD INDIA SHALL SUFFER DASATWA OR BONDAGE. TOWARDS THE END, THIS WILL BEGIN TO BREAK AND FROM 2000 AD SATYA SANATANA WILL BE ESTABLISHED.” Thus, when we are going to see a very glorious phase beginning 2000 AD, I cannot agree with those predictions about Doom. Later Sri Achyuta adds that this will be done by the strength or people of Baladeva (Sri Balaram, the elder brother of Bhagawan). Now, we can only speculate here.

EPILOGUE

There seems to be some confusion about understanding of the Yuga cycles. This is so because of the lack of appretiation of the “Sankalpha” done at the begining of the prayers. The day of Brahma is called “Kalpha” from which the word “Sankalpha” is derived. Kalpha also means Lagna. Hence Brahma controls longevity. In the day there is “Leela” and in the Night, the universe is withdrawn and exists as a potentiality. This Kalpha is about 4320 Million years and 360 such Brahma days make a Brahma Year. Now, Brahma’s life is for 100 such years (followed by a dissolution called Prakrittika Mahapralaya) and it is believed that Brahma is in His 51st Year. The Kalpha is divided into 14 Manvantaras of which we are in the 7th called Manu Vaivasvata. Each Manvantara is for 306,720,000 years with gaps between the manvantara’s in any Kalpha. Each Manvantara is further subdivided into 71 Mahayuga (approx.) as 1000 Mahayuga make one Kalpha. Each Mahayuga is further divided into four Yuga’s called Krta (Four), Treta (Three), Dvapara (Two) and Kali (One) of lengths 4800, 3600, 2400 and 1200 “YEARS OF THE GODS”. Here the years of the Gods refers to the Sun as Deva is derived from Diva (Light) and the Sun is also called Divakara. THIS IS WHERE THE ERROR CREEPS IN I.E. THE INTERPRETATION OF THE TERM “YEAR OF THE GODS”. WHILE THIS IS GENERALLY ACCEPTED AS THE MOTION OF THE SUN IN ONE DAY, SOME HAVE EQUATED THIS TO ONE YEAR OF HUMAN LIFE. Thus, they misrepresent the periods as 4800, 3600, 2400 and 1200 human years instead.

The Manu Smriti has stated that “A DAY OF THE GODS IS EQUAL TO A YEAR IN HUMAN LIFE” . This is also the reason why I have been requesting the Software programmers to calculate the dasa-antar and other smaller periods correctly on the basis of the Actual solar transit of 360 Degrees with fluctuations in one year instead of interpolating on the figure of 365.25 days as a lot of approximation creeps in. Another blunder is to equate the year of the Gods blindly to 360 human years on the approximate basis of 1 Degree transit of the Sun per day when we know this to be 365.25 solar days This is how another doubt of 360 days instead of 365.25 days per year has crept in.

START OF KALI

The dating of the Kali yuga is the vexed question. Tradition accepts this as 3102 BC, whereas others relying on the other factors give 900 BC or 600 BC etc. How do we resolve this?

MY VIEWS/ WISDOM OF SRI ACHYUTA DASA

Not going into other considerations, the 60 Year cycle of Jupiter and Saturn is considered very significant. The Yuga of Kali of 1200 Years of the Gods can be sub-divided into four sub-periods of 480, 360, 240 and 120 years of the Gods. WE can again divide this into sub-sub-periods…and so on. Now, Two such cycles of Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Aries maybe called a “Chakra” with the first cycle called as Avaroha and the second as Aaroha. Thus the smallest measure of quality of time or “Chakra” is 120 solar years. These Chakras can again be grouped as Krta (Four Chakra), Treta (three Chakra), Dvapara (Two Chakra) and Kali (one Chakra) having periods of 480, 360, 240 and 120 solar years each and the MahaChakra will be for 1200 solar years. According to Sri Achyuta Dasa, the “Dasatwa (Bondage) of India ends in 2000 AD” showing that the Kali Chakra of 120 years that started in 1880 AD is to end in 2000 AD when Jupiter & Saturn are to conjoin in Aries again. Thus, this MahaChakra must have started 1200 years back in 800 AD. Further, the KrtaChakra should have been from 800 AD to 1280 AD and during this period the best temples were built and the finest literature produced. This was the golden age of India. After this, TretaChakra was from 1280 to 1640 AD during which we find that Satwa declines and strife increases. The Dasatva (Bondage) of India begins as invaders came to rule and Muslim dynasty’s are set up in India. DvaparaChakra was from 1640 to 1880 when the British directly ruled India under the Crown. With the advent of KaliChakra (1880 to 2000 AD), the fight for freedom begins in the form of revival of religion etc. Strife is at its highest and has gone to the villages as well. The main theme in India, the most spiritual Land, is still peace or a peaceful approach to freedom in the Aaroha (Increasing) portion of 60 years (1880 to 1940 AD) whereas in the Avaroha portion 1940 to 2000 AD even Mahatma Gandhi takes a war-like posture in the Quit India resolution of 1942.

The KaliChakra (1880 to 2000 AD) has seen the development of the most powerful weapons for mass destruction as well as their use. Next year, the entire cycle changes and another MahaChakra of 1200 Years begins with a KretaChakra (2000 to 2480 AD) and once again, the temples will be built, literature will flourish and a lot of good will happen on this planet. Sri Achyuta Dasa, the pride of the Tradition of Orissa and the Direct Disciple of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu has left such brilliant Gems in Oriya Prose and I hope to translate them properly for the benefit of all jyotish
